Becoming a Family

We are the Hybl Family. For those of you who don't know our past before we became "The Hybl's," we would like to give you a brief introduction. It is truly the oldest story in the book. Boy meets girl, girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy, boy marries girl, and baby makes three. Well sorta.....It probably reads much more like this....Boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl spend years deciding whether they can't live With or Without each other and finally decide to get hitched. One hurricane weekend at the beach, a name change, and happily ever after. Two years after marrying Ryan and I were so excited to learn we were going to be a family and on September 4th, 2007 exactly three years after being married, Adyline Kennedy joined our family.
Ryan and I both attended the University of Georgia where he played golf and majored in business and I majored in education. After school Ryan took a job as the assistant golf coach at UGA and I taught school. We both decided that we wanted more and went for it. Ryan turned Pro and played professional golf for a year on the mini tours but an elbow injury would turn our lives back to college golf.
In June of 2009 Ryan took the head coaching position for the men's golf program at the University of Oklahoma. Months of living apart finally lead to Adyline and I becoming Oklahoma girls.
This is our life in the fast lane. We hope you enjoy being parts of our lives. GO SOONERS!!

Ready for Fall

With our summer temperatures over 100 degrees for over a month I had become quite depressed with our heat and our garden. But with a brief cold front that landed, we went from 104 degree high on Monday to a 78 degree high on Tuesday.....Amazing Heavenly weather change is all I can say. So the tease in the weather made me want to get ready for fall. So Ady and I decided to do a little fall decorating. The pictures really don't do it justice. But we had so much fun decorating with pumpkins and leaves....we even used an old birdcage for one of our pots.

The Tradition Continues

Ady and I have been baking up a storm, so we decided to bring some Hybl Christmas tradition to a hot Oklahoma Summer. The cookies were beautiful as you can see....and much like Grandpa...Ady always Wins Best Cookie Decorating!

Ady's First Trip To The Dentist

Today was a very special day, our little girl went to visit Doctor Floyd. What a pro! She sat sweetly and quietly for 2 hours and waited patiently for her turn in the BIG CHAIR. What a proud day for a parent, to watch their child be so independent at something so scary and new! Ady recieved a great report....I sadly did not!

Ady's Birthday Is SOON!

So my little stinker is almost 3....I can not believe I will have a 3 year old in a matter of weeks. Ryan and I did some birthday shopping today and wanted to give you guys some details so that we did not overlap!

For her birthday she keeps saying she wants a blue birthday cake with a mermaid on it....so we are working on finding a bakery at the beach who can do that! We basically stayed in the realm of everything Disney. The little mermaid, princess and the frog, and Tinkerbell are her favorites! We wanted to get her a barbie with a pony but it did not make it into the buggy. So if anyone wants an idea, there is a great Rapunzel horse and Rapunzel barbie doll that she would love. She saw it at Toys R Us the other day and really loved it. We also saw quite a few real cameras in the toy section at Toys R Us as well. Ryan and I saw a variety of cameras that range from $30-$60 that she would love, just remember.....if she can not see the picture digitally when she takes the picture then it is no better than the fake cameras. You guys might think that is too old for Ady, but trust me she loves to steal mine.

Also, anything for the pool or the beach would be good too! Since we are traveling we will probably not bring any swim stuff except for her floaties.

I hope everyone is as busy and happy as we are! Miss you all terribly!

Almost August

What can I say.......IT'S HOT!

Mexican Fiesta

This is a bakery that we went to for lunch in the middle of the mexican market in downtown San Antonio...is was so great!

We Are POOPED!

So I asked Ady what her favorite part of the vacation was and she said,"the big bed with the big telephones." So there you go.....wonderful Sea World vacation, dolphins, whales, sea lions, huge swimming pools.....and Ady's favorite thing was the hotel with the old school cord telephones. Maybe next year we will opt for a night at a hotel here in Norman Oklahoma and forget the big vacation. What are ya going to do? Kids love the simple things!

Sea World

I would recommend Sea World to anyone who has small children. It was sooooo much fun. Ady loved watching the shows...so much that she went home with Finn her new dolphin and Shamu her new whale. So we have now replaced kitty and puppy at bed time for Finn and Shamu. We tried to trade them for "her silky blanky" but she wasn't having any of that!

Swimming With Papa Is The Best!

This was Ady's pool at the hotel....such a great pool for little kids. She loved it....and so did Papa.

Getting Ready For Sea World

This is our little traveler! She is much better than her mama! This is Miss Ady on her way to Sea World....she never complains....even on an 8 hour drive.

Here are some updated house pics....

So since we moved in our new home we have been trying to add to our home little by little. We finally have a study and the bonus....it can be used as a spare bedroom!!! I hope everyone loves it as much as I do. It is a great room for coffee and computer time!

Ady's New Sand Station

A couple of weeks ago we were so lucky to have Nonna and Grandpa come out to OK to visit us. What was supposed to be a vacation for them turned much more into a vacation for me and a work checklist for them. It was great! Grandpa cut down all of the dead tree that the tornado took in May...killed the big scary snake that lived in the front bushes...pulled out the gigantic pampas grasses....and built Ady this wonderful sand pit or as Ady would like to call it, "my sand pile."
This is usually where you will find us!

Back on the Blog!

We are back on the blog. It has been a long month since our last blog...many happy moments and a few really sad. We lost two wonderful family members who went to live with the Lord and who are deeply missed.

Miss Ady Gets A Haircut

Every morning before school Ady and I would get into fight after fight after fight about her hair. "Don't brush it...Don't touch it...That hurts....Stop," Ady would say over and over. She is always so messy and has a bad habit of wiping her nose all day long. As a result she would end up with tangles and rats nest galore. Her hair would even be stuck to her face by lunch. So I told her that if she did not stop fussing with me over her hair, that I would cut it all off. And so........we did. I took Ady to a beautiful salon and she had the quickest 11 minute haircut I have ever seen. She cried the entire time and never looked up to see herself in the mirror. Five minutes after the haircut we went next door and had a chocolate cupcake and all was perfect with the world.

I love the haircut....she went from a two year old to a five year old in 11 minutes!

Last Day of School

Today was the last day of our regular school year at St. Marks. The kids must have smelled it on us because they were so out of character. If one is usually quiet...then they were screaming. If one is usually happy....they were miserable. It was like an episode from the twilight zone. Anyway, I am so excited that we have a two week break before summer session begins. We are going to sleep late, play hard, watch movies, and maybe even go to the zoo. On top of all of that Aunt Mac is coming to town! HipHipHorray!
When I told Ady that Aunt Mac was coming to visit, she immediately said, "And bringing me a present." I told her that not everybody brings a present when they come to visit. And she said, "Yes they do!" And in her little world I guess they do :)

Only in Oklahoma

So I know I keep talking about weather...but this place has the craziest weather in all of the world. Sunday a huge hail storm went through Oklahoma City and damaged millions of dollars worth of property. It missed us by 10 miles! We sat on our porch and watched the hail core pass us by. You know we have crazy weather when........

Ady opened up the newspaper to the weather page..you know the one where it shows the United States and it is color coded depending on the temperatures for the day. She looked at the Red color throughout the midwest and southern states and said, "Look Mama, that is a really bad rain storm. We better go inside so it won't blow us away!"
